This type of color common for Plakats? Lavender & Turquoise

Came across this fella yesterday. It was one of the healtiest looking bettas out the 90 they had in stock.

I was wondering if this was a common color combination?

His fins weren't perfectly symmetrical so I put him back on the shelf.

I was looking for mislabeled fish. Didn't find any, but that particular betta caught my attention along with 3 others, but I only took pictures of the lavender/turq.

The other 3 eye catchers were.....

• 2" Sapphire blue HM with white pectorals semi dumbo ear, but it wasn't healthy.
• 2.5" Midnight blue/black King - VERY healthy looking, but too dark for me. He was the healthiest out of the 5 Kings.
• 2" Graphite Silver plakat with reddish ventrals. Other than the silver, the rest of his colors were mute.

If the photographed betta had white or some flashy pectoral fins I would have brought him home.

I see that color a lot at Petco, that's where I got Phillip,
but Phillip's white lessens as he gets older.
FYI, my local Petco got a bad batch in December,
most died right away and they still haven't got a new shipment.
Very few on the shelves right now.
I asked the manager if they ever switch suppliers and she said no,
they always get fish from the same source.

I wouldn't be surprised if he is just pale from stress. My guess is that he will brighten to red/green or red/blue once he isn't stressed. :)
