Dividing a 10G

I'm gonna divide my 10G with a DIY divider. I have a betta that likes to jump. The lid has a florescent light on it. My only question. Will the plastic craft mesh melt if i put it to right under the lid?

I did that with mine and never had an issue. I don't think florescents get hot enough too, mine don't anyway :)

Nope.. it's sturdy enough to withstand it. Never have had issues with it.
