Had my betta fish for a few days now...

Any guesses on colour/pattern for Grimm?

Dantalian refuses to hold still for a picture... He's actually red and greenish blue.

Also, this is Alex. He lives by himself because he doesn't play nice with others. He's approximately 5 years old.

I came back to my room and my two bettas were on the same side of the divider. Dantalian's perfectly fine and Grimm whose almost twice his size has a noticeable split in his tail. I feel so stupid... I just made a new divider out of a flexible binder cover and it fit snug to the tank walls, but I must have filled the water level up too high and Dante jumped over. Is there anything I can do to help Grimm heal?

Are you sure it's not his double tail? If not, then time will heal it. If you are really worried, you can add AQ salt to keep from infection, but do not exceed over 10 days w/ AQ salt, since it has been known to cause kidney failure after prolonged exposure. I personally wouldn't add anything, since tails tend to heal nicely and quickly.

Yup, Grimm's tail is healing up nicely. Thank you so much.

Here's my attempt at getting some shots of Dante:

Your fish are very beautiful!!

I had it happen where they got on the same side and I though one jumped. But that wasn't it. One managed to sqeeze through a very small gap in the divider. They can do this! I filled it up with plastic wrap and the problem stopped. Keep watching to make sure it really was jumping over or otherwise you might have it happen again.

Nice fish you have!
