New male

After losing 2 of my males I have restarted with
My gang of 3. Sheldon, new Leonard, new Howard. Yes they are named after The Big Bang Theory. Anyway all is going great just have a question about new Leonard's coloring. He is blue with some red undertones and he also has dark striped that run down his body. Is that normal for males to have? Is it a sign of stress or readiness to mate? He is eating great NLS pellets they each get about 3 in the a.m 3 in p.m (they are teeny tiny). Occasional glassworm frozen thawed. I'm still trying to figure out how to get pictures on here. But when I do I'll post.

Personally I've not seen any of my males with stripes, just my females. But. If I remember correctly it is possible but so some more experienced with it will need to chime in.

Shellieca that's what I was thinking. I know for a fact it's a male because he is old enough to tell and has long flowing fins.

It kind of sounds like a stress stripe. How long have you had them? Most pet stores don't take good care of their Bettas, so maybe it's stress from that and he'll be fine once he's all settled into his new home.

Today will make day 5 with me. He didn't eat the first day and half. Now he greets me and takes his pellets and his treats. (frozen thawed glassworms). His fast day is on Fridays so we will see how he likes that. He's a begger for sure.
