any specific trait in a betta that makes him/her irresistible to you?

Is there any traits in a betta that closes the deal for you and makes you go, "I am definitely taking you home with me!" It can be a specific coloring, fin type, markings, etc.

For me, it's their eyes. I like the bettas to have a solid black eye where you can't really see the pupil. I think it makes them simply adorable! ^^

The flow of their tail when they swim, the grace-fullness. I also find Shy Betta really cute. (Though they aren't after awhile with me - but are with other people !) :)

And for breeding, good rays, tail form, shape, colour, attitude etc

It's whoever "talks" to me from their pitiful little cup. The last two females I purchased were because they were sickly looking & CT's which I wanted at the time. I usually look for colors I don't have already in males or females & see who "speaks" to me. Sometimes they're healthy & other times not so much.

Yep I love the black eye look. I particularly love it when it is on a minimally marked, white or cello based marble. Then it has to be HMPK, VT or DTVT as they are the only tail types I like.

I have a particular soft spot for young, dark-eyed Cambodian female bettas. I am planning on setting up a sorority with some of these again.

Unsure what it is for me.. I like all different tail types (if I have to choose a favorite it's VT for the "classic" look). I like vivid colors, bright colors that stand out.. as for "personality" I love a little attitude and the interactions they give you when you go up to their tanks.

I haven't seen them before here, but it would probably make me buy one also, if they had different coloured lips than their body. If that makes sense. It's cute! :D

It's mostly the colour, I admit. I'm always looking for rare or unusual colours and patterns.
