I got another baby, couldnt resist!

So, after my last baby caught SBD, then Dropsy a few weeks ago I've been thinking about getting another one.
Today I had to go to a Dr's appointment a few hours away and there's a petco on my way back home, so I had to stop.

They had a lot of babies, but almost all of them were VT's. Then I saw this little guy or gal.

A marbled baby CT (atleast it looks like a CT from what I can see)

Cute huh?

I cant wait to see how he/she turns out :) Hopefully I have better luck this time!

(and that's not where s/he's living, I just put him/her in there to take a few pics)

I just got my first baby today, too! He looks like he is going to be teal and red. Possibly a crowntail? His tail looks like yours does! I've always had adults, but this little guy (at least they told me he was a guy) stole my heart. I am not sure how to care differently for a young betta--other than making the food smaller. I have him in a heated 1-gallon right now, but will move him to a 5 gallon when he gets older like my other two boys.

If (s)he turns out to be a girl, I suggest the name sapphire! For some reason I really think that suits her/him. (If it turns out to be a girl)

Thanks!! Yeah, thats his/her second feeding today. I bought hikari micro pellets for him and they are so small that its impossible to pull just 4-5 out of the bag, instead I let him/her fill up and remove the rest after a minute or two.

Saphire would be a great name! Thats my birth stone

But I dont name fish, everyone I've named in the past has died within a few weeks of being named :(

Petco seems to be the only petstore that sells the babies. I went to Petsmart earlier then to Petco, but Petco had a much larger selection.

Looks like a CT to me too!
Congrats on your new baby!
They are much harder work than adults so be prepared!
They stress really easy so put him/her in a low traffic area without drafts.
you want the temp up to between 82-84* for a baby.
Also make sure you feed more often than you would an adult.
Live food is best, but if you cant get live I'd suggest trying to find frozen baby brine shrimp I think petsmart sells it. If you cant baby get adult and chop them up.
1 gallon is fine for a baby but once he/she gets about 1.25" you'll want to upgrade to 2 gallons or more.

I think that about covers it! Goodluck :)

Yeah, petco is the only place that sells them
Selling babies should be illegal. I'm honestly against it. But I figure I might as well save the ones I can, its not like I dont have plenty of extra room for them
