funny story about my hubby feeding my fish

I'm working a new job that requires me to commute 1 1/2 hours one way. I have to leave the house at 6. Since the aquariums are in the bedroom that we share with our son (yes, we are living in a 1 bedroom apartment), I don't feed the fish before I leave. I've asked my husband to take over the morning feeding. He told me he grabbed the container of flakes (which my female absolutely LOVES - but usually only gets for a treat) and fed them both. He said the Fishy (the female) was super excited and gobbled them up right away. But when he dropped the flakes in for the the Fizz (the male), Fizz swam to a corner at the bottom of the tank and sulked and wouldn't budge no matter what my husband did. So my husband scooped out the flakes and decided to drop in a couple pellets. Fizz immediately swam to the top and gobbled them up!
My husband was amazed how picky these fish can be and how they know the difference between what foods they are getting.

yep my fish loves the flakes but he would refuse to eat the pellets.

It took me quite a long time to find a pellet my female likes, and now that I did, she'll gobble them right up, but when she sees flakes - she's like a kid in a candy store. My male though, won't have anything to do with the flakes at all - I had tried once before and he took a couple of nibbles, but then spit them out and swam away. It's quite amusing to think that now when he sees them, he goes to the corner without even trying to eat them. :D

That's funny! My males eat anything I feed them. Well so far, I haven't tried flakes. Just pellets, frozen bloodworms, freeze dried bloodworms.

Hahahaha, that's hilarious! I love how your male just goes to the corner and sulks. XD I'm imagining it in my head and I am laughing my head offX

That's cute! I can imagine Rosso trying to do something like that. He was rather difficult to feed at times.
