Who has/had the flu this year?

It's pretty bad I guess. I am over 50 and never had a flu shot. Maybe I should get one this year?

I've hurt the flu shot isn't worth it. I'm not too sure, though. I've never had it, but I've heard lots of people have problems with it and it's not effective.


Hmmmm I do get the flu. Sore muscles, head ache / throbbing, runny nose etc :)

I didn't get a flu shot this year. I'm over 50 also. My brother said they weren't worth it.

I had the flu towards the end of last year. My symptoms were body, bad congestion, headache, lethargy, just to name a few. I only had a 24 hour flu.

I hear the flu shot isn't worth it for some people. I only had one once and developed either a sinus infection or something of the like shortly after. That was ages ago. The flu shot can be good for people who have other illnesses that a flu may complicate, such as Asthma.

I had it and my symptoms were that I felt like poo for nearly 2 weeks! Add a sinus infection AND an ear infection on top of that and my Christmas week was just lovely

I never get flu shots, and haven't got the flu since I was very young (the last time I got a flu shot).....it's a conspiracy man! O.o

I do occasionally get colds but they don't last long in my extremely harsh immune system.

if it was only 24 hours I don't think that was the type of flu you get the shot for.

I've had the flu 3x and bronchitis 2x already this season.

I actually got a text from the county's TV station today saying that We have had over 530 cases of the flu so far just this season in the county. That's the highest number in 10 years for total cases in a season.

I'd definitely go get a flu shot. Soon as I get over the one I have right now I'll be going in for one


Symptons:: Ear ache, head congestion, extreme fatigue, loss of apptetite, body aches, head aches, nausea, etc. Pretty much everything for over a week each time

I haven't, but I do have a cold right now. I try to avoid flu shots as much as possible because I'm scared of needles, so I didn't get a flu shot this year >:]

Mine lasted so long because
1. We had an outbreak of a very bad strain of flu here that overwhelmed ERs with cases. It is still bad (told by ER nurse that they have been under reporting it to keep down on panic and just telling milder cases that they have a bad cold )
2. I have a weak immune system
3. No flu shot (so I had to make my own antibodies before my body could fight it off)
4. I also had an ear (both) and sinus infection at the time
