Bertie CONSTATNTLY ATTACKING HIS REFLECTION!

Hey y'all,
Bertie's has been constantly attacking his reflection.....he seems pretty happy otherwise - eaten 6 pellets otday and has blown a huge bubble nest,,,but how do I take care of this?

I make sure his tank lights are on only when the room lights are and vice versa

Me really worried :(

my fish has been doing this a lot, i have no idea how to fix it or anything. i think its just the aggresive nature of the fish or something.

Hmmm....there have been lots of posts about this lately. What happens if you turn his tank light off? Can you move the tank elsewhere? How about putting a piece of paper (not shiny) up against the side to block the reflection?

A little bit of flaring at himself is OK, but too much can be quite stressful on the fish.

I guess his tank can be moved, but I am not sure how that will help...he does this whether the tank lights are on or off....

I could maybe stick some Plain tissue paper on the sides of his tank......would that be good?

Try adding a black background to his tank. It might calm him down. Do every side but the front.

hmm...the black paper didn't work....he got madder and was actually hitting against the tank wall...never seen him do that before .shud I buy him a new tank or sumthng?

Any suggestions anybody?
If i have to buy him a new tank, i will this weekend. What brand should I buy that does not reflect off so much....whats funny is that he's been doing the flaring only since yesterday!

How big is your tank and what are your water parameters? When is the last time you did a water change and how much did you change?

Maybe the culprit is poor water quality.

water was changed 60% yesterday.....water parameters are fine.

Tank size is 2.5 gallons and temperature is 80.

He eats great ( 6-7 pellets and wants more!) and has a big bubblenest too.....He seems happy , just that I am worried because all afternoon ( I left early from work to go take care of him) and evening yesterday he seemed stressed out and mad....I tried putting black paper....he got madder.
