Since the salt seems to have helped I would continue that at a rate of 1 tsp per gallon predissolved for 10 days. You only need to redose with a water change since it won't evaporate and break down.

In the meantime, watch for when he poops again.. If it was parasidic poo he needs to be fed metro soaked (you can use API's General Cure) meds.. 3-4 week treatment. Watch him very carefully and next time he poops see what it looks like.
