Unhappy Fin rot or just torn fins?

The super bright picture is the day I got him. The darker picture is him today. He does have a pretty spiky plant in his tank that is to be replaced ASAP but I want to make sure it's not something more serious. Please help?

(I can try for a better picture if someone needs it)

You should've heard the sigh of relief that just came out of me haha. I'm certainly going to the LPS for some meds and a softer plant tomorrow.

He is. Love him to death. I wish I had the ability to spoil my fish like I dream of.

I'm so sorry :( I've got another boy who's been with me for a couple of years. He's been pretty lethargic lately and I'm afraid he's going soon. *hugs*

Also, thanks for the other opinions. All the advice in the world will always help!
