Hello Everyone :)
So I'm a college student raising my first Betta.
I bought a baby at petco before I researched how bad that may actually be.

BUT I've had (him?) since September 24, 2012, and he's grown quite a bit.

Can anyone help me figure out what type of betta he is, by any chance? Or if it's even a he?

Wow! Nice baby! Looks as if he/she might be a girl. If you can get he/she to flare, and the gills flare out of the gill covers (Producing a beard-like appearance) then it is mostly definitely a guy then.

Yes ! I've gotten him to flare, and it does come out on the sides and the bottom of the head.
