feeding betta with dropsy

My betta has dropsy and I am medicating him. My question is
if I feed him a frozen brine shrimp do I need to soak it in anything like meds or just feed it to him like it is

Is he pooping regularly? If he's not pooping daily and is constipated I would not feed him. If he's pooping fine then you can feed normally. From your photos, he appeared to be in a bare bottom container so if he's pooping you will see poop. If you don't see it at the bottom don't feed.

callistra I put him back in the 2.5 after cleaning it yesterday and I put clean gravel back in it . I cant tell if there poo or not. tomorrow I have to do a change of water and meds so I am going to take gravel out. The gravel is natural colored so I cant see it. I have him in the dark as of now not to disturb him. Ill be able to check poo tomorrow.

Okay. I wouldn't feed until then. A few days without food can't hurt and it could help.
