Female Finnage?

I just got my new little female today! Her name is Camille (go to my album for pics as I can't post them via my phone). I am having trouble telling what tail type she is! She is washed out because of stress, so her final color is yet to be seen. She has a LONG back fin and her bottom fin comes to a strong "point" (sorry if that makes no sense). So how can I tell what type she is? Can someone give me advice or direct me to somewhere?

She looks like a spade tail to me. :) They're not very common. But you can tell because of the "pointed" end of her tail.

I was thinking spade or VT, but it's hard to tell! She is quite healthy for a PetSmart Betta (save for a mild amonia burn around her gills) and VERY active. Gus was never so small, so right now I'm trying to figure out her age and everything else about her. I am so use to my little piggy that it was a surprise to see her full after one pellet!

So what do you think of her color? Her body is currently kind of a blond color and her tail is a lovely soft orange. I think she may have a spot or 2 on her body, but I'm not sure. She is soooo the oposite coloration that I was looking for, but I liked her personality.

Also, how can I be sure she is a girl? Her fins don't really match anything I have seen, so I want to be sure. I will eventually get a sorority and if she is a he, I have to figure out what to do. You know how bad they are at mislabeling

Girls *tend* to have shorter ventrals etc. I think *she* is actually a *she*. But she looks like maybe a juvenile? So you'll have to see what she eventually grows into!

Yup, looking at her pictures, definitely a round tail :) She's gorgeous!

She is so tiny! But soooo cute

I think she is a cambodian coloration. She likes to follow my finger and is quite sociable. I wish someone could age her for me! I want to keep up with how old she is.

A round tail? Do you have any pics of female roundtails for me to compare her too?

In these two pictures, she looks like a spade-tail. It's clearly visible by the "tipped" tail:

But, however, in this picture she looks like a round tail:

But, seeing as that was just the one picture, I would say she is definately a spade tail. You can tell with the "pointed" fins on her.

She also looks Yellow, but that may come out and change as she gets older :)
She looks Juvenile to me. Just before adult hood, and not a baby.

Considering the pictures that make her look like a spade tail is actually due to the rounded curve of the cup she is in that is elongating the fin - I would go by the one picture that shows her actual shape of the tail - which looks like a messy VT.
Possibly could of been a fin mix of parents to of caused it.. but I would not compare the pictures with the stretched fins due to curvature to say what type of fin she is.

I will try to get a good pic of her without that curve and upload it today. Maybe that will help.
