Exclamation Betta head change of color, loss of scales?

I recently bought a new betta from a pet store about 2 weeks ago. Over this time, I have noticed that the top of his head has begun to change color, and I am a bit concerned. This is what the top of his head looks like right now.

And this is what it was like when I first purchased him:

Is there anything wrong with him or is he just stressed from the change in environment? He is eating and swimming normally.

Maybe it's just the lighting but the entire betta appears to be a different color.. I wouldn't even have known it was the same fish.

AQ should only be used when sick and then only for 10 days at a time.

Need more info... can you please fill the rest out? Also if you can give actual levels for water parameters that would be helpful.

The first pic looks like it might be normal coloring but it also looks a bit like things that aren't normal. The second pic his head looks kinda pitted and raw/red looking.. is that true?

That is true- it was slightly discolored when I bought him but now it is definitely more raw looking with a blue tint to it. The rest of his body is the same color as it was originally- I think it is just the lighting and the older picture I have of him is much poorer quality.

For water quality:
Nitrate NO3 - 20 ppm
Nitrate NO2- between 0 and 0.5 ppm
Hardness- 150 ppm
Alkalinity- between 80 and 120 ppm
pH- 6.9
