Bubbles but not bubble nest

my little guy got caught in the filter a couple of days ago and had some swim balder issues before that. I just took the hood of the tank off and noticed there's a lot of bubbles on the top...but not in a bubble nest is this a good sign or a bad omen?

Sometimes the surface of the water can become thick, like sludge... Anything that disturbs the top, whether the betta expelling air, making nests or just the filter itself it can leave behind bubbles that are similar to a nests, but not belonging to.

I have a tank that does the same thing due to wood in the tank. Skim off the surface with a cup and replace with clean water.
