Short Pet Store Horror Story

Today I went to a pet store in the mall that I go to to look at the dogs when I miss my dogs that live back home with my parents. I just noticed today that they have some betta fish. They were kept in open plastic jars, and the jars were touching each other. I moved the jars apart from each other and spread them out on the shelf. One of the bettas had some very dirty water. All were not very responsive.

The craziest part?

They were marked "Show Bettas".

Hey there,

It is terrible to hear about the conditions that those poor bettas are kept in....... sadly an all too common occurrance. I cannot believe they were trying to sell them as show bettas though.

the jars being next to each other isn't that bad. it's more that the jars are open and dirty. x:

i mean, i keep some of my tanks right up against each other, and my bettas don't mind one bit.

but, i guess in a jar, carding them would be better, so they can't see each other ALL THE TIME....
