Tikibirds, love your tank but be careful about the spongebob ornament.. see my sig.

Tikibirds also answered the air stone question. I also use 2 airline control values to turn my airstones down to a mist. I use Kordon Mist Air fine bubbles, and I use a suction cup from a thermometer to stick them beneath the heater.

This was the beginnings of my 10g tank you can see the bubbler: http://www.bettafish.com/showthread....05#post1360305

I am keeping an eye on the inhabitants and the decoration itself. I've had it for 3 or so years, maybe the metal is a new thing?

No, airstones are not something you have to have... But, they are just nice sometimes :)

Ditch the bee hive cave. I had that and pitched it because the paint started bubbling up and peeling. No good for betta. I put in a thoroughly washed ceramic mug.

i just bought the bee hive cave :c yeah actually i have the heater at 82degrees right now and i noticed a few days ago the paint was bubbling and hardening into bubbles bumps!!! its sooo adorable though. it hasnt started peeling so i will keep an eye on it and if it does start peeling i will replace is with a cuter cave (there are no fish in the tank yet cause its cycling so thats good)
