I got a leaf hammock at petco because I often see Shark hanging out at the top of the tank when its dark out. I think its supposed to be for old or sick bettas, but she LOVES it. Most of the time when I turn the light on at night she is resting there. Does anyone else have one of these?
I don't, but I have a lot of floating decor and he likes to rest on them at night when he sleeps. I recently got IAL and he LOVED sleeping on that, so I guess it's a nice substitute for a betta hammock.
I keep them all in my .33 and .66g containers for all my males - often bettas prefer to sleep close to the water top so it's easier to get air at night, so sleeping on something that is right there near it makes sense to them :)
I don't, but I do have live Lilly plants with big broad leaves that curl slightly and are at a slight angle. My female loves to slide into them and sleep there. The leaves in my male's tank haven't gotten to where he can sleep on them yet, but he does like to rest under them.
All 5 of mine use theirs it took a few days for some of them to figure it out and use them the class clown would just glare at it but he is that way with anything new in his tank.
I use hammocks in my tanks and it's a mixed bag of which Betta will like his/her hammock. It's worth the investment in my opinion to get one. Just make sure you pull the wire out to avoid rust and potential injury.
I don't think I have it posted on my album, but I did manage to snap a picture of Poseidon snoozing on his hammock one day. He looked so comfortable.
