Copper splotches

My baby, Lil Sano, has been scratching lately. I shined the light on him and he has 4 or 5 large copper splotches on his face and near his gills. He eats fine and is breathing fine. He is kinda lazy acting, but will swim around for a minute every 4 minutes or so. He will also swim if I catch his attention some how. Normally he sleeps almost vertical near his heater or in his log, but lately has been laying next to his log or on a stone to sleep. Anyone know what might be up? All helpis appreciated :)

oh you mean kind of where his "cheeks" are? my betta has those i thought it was normal... at least i think that what my betta's ones look like

What temperature is your tank? 77 degrees f.
Does your tank have a filter? no, they seem to stress him out.
Does your tank have an air stone or other type of aeration? no
Is your tank heated? yes
What tank mates does your betta fish live with? none. there is a live plant in the aquarium though.

Food
What type of food do you feed your betta fish? Tetra freeze dried bloodworms, Tetra Sund Dried Gammarus, BettaMin Tropical Medley, TetraBetta Floating Mini pellets, and TetraMin Tropical Flakes.
How often do you feed your betta fish? 2X a day 6 days a week. He gets the bloodworms or sun gammarus 1 or 2Xs a week.

Maintenance
How often do you perform a water change? everyday
What percentage of the water do you change when you perform a water change? 20%
What type of additives do you add to the water when you perform a water change? Prime and Tetra Easy Balance.

Symptoms and Treatment
How has your betta fish's appearance changed? He has had copper spots ever since his color came back(he is a rescue. Grey when I got him) There are more of them now. There are also more white spots on his face.
How has your betta fish's behavior changed? He scratches against his heater, plants, and log.
When did you start noticing the symptoms? I noticed the scratching last week. I noticed the copper today.
Have you started treating your fish? If so, how?no
Does your fish have any history of being ill? Yes, he was not taken care of at all before I rescued him.
How old is your fish (approximately)? I have had him for 8 months so maybe a bit over a year.
