Will it Work Out?

Good evening everyone,
So I've recently gotten back into the Betta craze and I was wondering if I could house a male Betta in a 50 gallon tank that is kept at 75 degrees and is currently stocked with the following: http://aqadvisor.com/AquStockImage.p...:200909300164:

• 6 longfin zebra danios
• 5 guppies
• 4 african dwarf frogs
• 5 yellow balloon mollies
• 5 red platys

Anyone think this could work? I plan on going out to the LFS tomorrow and buying that Betta that I mentioned in my introduction thread. I hope it's still there!

The danios may fin nip, and your betta may see the guppies as a threat (bright colors) but then again he may not, it just depends on the personalities of the fish in your tank. Give it a shot and if it doesn't work out have a back up tank prepared for your betta.

Thank you for the response, I have not yet witnessed my danios bothering my other fish, but I will watch out for that. And the guppies in my tank are rather dull looking so I hope they wont come off as a threat to the betta I'm getting. Will pick up a backup tank tomorrow as well. Thanks!

People have told me when they keep danios in groups they don't really bother other fish. I'm sure if it is planted enough and so on you should be fine. You could always try it, and watch everyones behavior for a bit see how it goes.
