Light??

At night is it better to give my betta alot of light a little bit of light or no light?? When i turn on the brighter lamp i have he sees his reflection and flares up and darts alot. But when i turn on the smaller light he only does it a little. What would be best for me to do??

At night your better having no light. His reflection will stress him out.

Yea his reflection will stress him out and your fish actually lives in tide pools so it does get dark they need a light cycle just like us humans

ok thanx but it still seems tht during the day he still sees his reflection sometimes. And are neon tetras ok to put with bettas? Or wat could i put with it

Neon tetras, from what ive heard, are generally a bad choice to suit to a betta as they have been known as fin nippers, and also the fact that your betta might eat the tetra should the tetra be small enough. Apparently the best companion for a betta is an otocinclus/bristlenose catfish/corydora as they keep to their algae and will not disturb your betta.

Kritas so the small catfish wouldnt be bad to get. or the 'cleaner' fish. tht eat the scum off the bottom wouldnt be bad for the betta?
