Yep, I feed her moths in the summer time...she goes nuts. SUPER fast too! I haven't handled her in a while, but when she was younger she would scare me by going from my hand to my shoulder in about a half second, lol. I actually bought a cage for her off tarantulacages.com, it's taller than wide and she usually hangs out in her web in the top corner. Not sure if this will show up, but here's a pic of her cage right when I got it (before she'd made her web):

but please...please do me, and you and your T a big favor. lose the sponge man.

T's will drink from open dishes and not drown, i promise, guarantee and verify this to be 100% true. Sponges are bad for so many reasons. Foremost being that crickets will use them to breed in...and bam you suddenly have hundreds of pinhead crickets in your tank. Worse if this happens just before a molt and you dotn catch it, because the crickets will devour your T. Second the sponges cause the water to evaporate very quickly, which is honestly more work for you. lastly an arrid wet porous surface = bacteria. Which is why people throw kitchen sponges out a lot :)
if you want your T to make webs in that setup i'd suggest hot gluing some more leaves to the top and corners of the tank. you would be suprised how fast she will take over a cubby hole high up.

It's not a sponge, it's a rock to keep the crickets from drowning. Everyone I show this pic to thinks it's a sponge though! But it's not, I promise.

The whole corner is a web right now! The plant has grown and she's got this really extensive web up there, she only leaves it when she's hungry. :)

no, which is why i plan to get a 5ish gal tank kit from the pet shop. Money has been pretty tight with me being disabled now. Kinda have to use what i have on hand. But i will say he is in the warmest room of the house. ive checked his water temp with a thermometer and it stays in the low-mid 70's

You need to get him in a room with temp being around 84 F. That is much to low. The temp should be from 78-82F
