LOL, that's the funny thing - it's not different! The only thing that I can see that is different is the plastic cover that goes on top of the filter. It now says "Fluval 50".

So, with no significant visible changes to the filter, I purchased it. I am now going to be on the lookout for sale-priced Aqua Clear branded filter media (My local Pet Smart didn't have any left).

BTW... Drs. Foster and Smith are having a great rebate/promotion going on regarding the Aqua Clear branded filters and filtration media, worth checking out!
