What about prazi pro. Might that fight the flukes?

Strips are inaccurate. Highly suggest drops.

I am personally more concerned with getting water quality and change routines under control as the treatment you are using should work for anything external parasite in nature.

So it's either has to do with the water itself and/or your 100% practices - it's not parasites, or you have the right treatment.

Okay. I don't know if this helps any conclusion or not, but when I got him, one of the little holes between his eye and mouth was swollen. I got it to go down to almost normal. Now it is swollen again.

Should have asked before.. how much of the med are you adding to the bowl? How long has he been in treatment now?

I would -

*Get drops kit and check ph of tap water and water your betta is currently in
*Change 100% change routine to include floating/acclimation period and make sure your water is preheated before you change.
*Find epsom salts - 100% magnesium sulfate with no additives of any kind - don't add yet
*Look around for a broad spectrum antibiotic like Kanaplex, Maracyn Plus or Furan 2 - don't treat yet
* Try to get us a decent photo

Oh and I am adding 1 drop of the quick cure which contains formalin and malachite green. The bottle says to give him 1 drop per gallon. I took him out of his 5 gallon and put him in the one gallon hospital tank.

You're dosing right and you would have seen an improvement if it was parasites by now.

Going to say either water issue or bacterial infection.

Okay. What do I do. I know to know exactly what to do so I don't screw this up either.

Unless you feel like he's headed downhill fast, I'd just get him out of those meds a good 24 hours and also only do one more 100% change to get rid of the meds and then not change the water for 48. See if he picks up.

The only thing I'd add at this point is the epsom salts. I'd predissovle 1 tsp and add very slowly over an hour + and then just leave him alone the next two days and see how he does.

He's still eating and acting pretty normal right?

In the meantime get back to us on the ph of the waters both tap and treated with the ph buffer.
