Tattoo Question

I just found this information out yesterday. Ive been designing my tat for 2 years now and deciding on where to put it. Now that ive figured that out Ive visited some shops and talked to some of the artists. One of them told me that if I am allergic to fish (I am not formally allergic to shellfish but it makes me nauseous and gives me a tummy ache) they said I shohld avoid red dye. Is this true? Has anyone heard of this before?

They also told me about iodine but I believe I am ok with iodine. Red inks comprised most of my tat designs so im pretty bummed out if it is indeed a guarantee that id react to the red.

Except my ex is allergic to shellfish and has a bunch of tattoos. Not sure if he has used red yet. Haven't heard about him dying or anything -.- so... I dunno.

Lol i dont think id die. The problem would be my skin would reject the ink and it could push the red out (u doing all the work) or scar. Shellfish isnt in the ink...artist said it would be an indicator I would reject the ink. :(

see im not even that allergic...I would just say sensitive. I never break out in hives or anything lol but ive been told allergies build up. Im going to ask more people here but of course I figured id ask here on the off chance someone knows.

Is there a way to have a different shade, or would it still work the same way I wonder? I'm interested in seeing the tattoo you planned :3

I can post one of them soon itd have to be tweaked by a tat artist.

And sadly no I could not work sround no red...it invovles a red fox and brazilian rainbow boa.

And thats funny about the dragon. No name betta hides in his mouth often he loves that thing.

Hmm well, the only real way to find out is a test line. Honestly... Do maybe only a very small section of it, and wait to see what happens.

Yeah :/ I have to see if I cam redesign it first though in black in white in case the test line fails. He said that the test lines are inaccurate because its not enough ink. Im going to ask more people. Thank you for the input :)

i don't think i've ever heard that. i have heard that red ink is one that rejects a lot though. never heard anyone relate it to shellfish allergies.

I've had a few tattoos and no-one ever asked me that question.

I never even heard of the potential problem until now
