Unholy amount of snail poo

My grand mother keept insiting I get a snail to keep the water clean, so she went out and got this golf ball sized monster mystery snail. He hasn't stopped pooping since my gran gave him to me. I knew they were heavy poopers, Is all his mess going to spike my water pramators?

Waste turns into ammonia, so it will of course raise the ammonia stats.
Snails don't keep the water clean, they only eat extra food and poo more than they eat! Tell your grandma that. What size is your tank? How many fish are in it? If the tanks below 10G, try to return the snail or place it into a tank at least 2.5G.

Well, it should be fine there then.
But that's a HUGE snail! Mine are only 1/2 the size of yours.. I think you should still retrun him, though. Is your tank cycled? It might go with a mini cycle.

It should be fine in a 10g, just do your weekly 50% water changes. I've never seen an ammonia spike after adding them to my 3 10g tanks with 1 Male Betta in each tank.

It's cycled with about 5 growing apons buds. Do you think I should up the waer changes from once a week to twice a week?

In a ten gallon I wouldn't worry too much. That's about the same size as my snail and everything has been fine in my ten gallon. I have a little school of tetras in there too, and no chemistry problems.

doing extra spot siphoning for the increased poo is a good idea.

Very much a cutie tho.

He should be fine. If anything add a couple more plants. The only thing they clean is the glass since they like algae.
