HELP! Driftwood troubles?

I have a fluval edge with plants fluval spec gravel and wood. The wood has some white stuff on it. It looks clear and like fire with the movements it makes. It like on top of the wood and looks cloudy. Any ideas?

can you get a picture. i dont think its water mold. i think water mold only is on living things.

it's a fairly common occurrence. I know shrimp and snails are supposed to LOVE this stuff. I think it's sap breaking down.

I have had the same thing happen. The wood is leaching out sap. Depends on the wood used.

Yeah I had pretty much the same thing happen to me. Like the above person said it's sap, when it happened to my tank it cleared out after a week or so. Don't worry its not toxic to fish if it bothers you you can scrub it with an old but clean toothbrush.
