Flaring question

Hi all :)

Does anyone else's betta flare at them when they are wearing black?
Last night he flared at my husband who was in a black tshirt then this morning he flated at me and he's never done that to me before! I was in a black singlet.

Bettas seem to recognize colors. (My CoT flares at blue and black pens but not red) so I guess he might have felt he needed to step up and protect his house from you! lol Nothing to worry about. All bettas have different personalities. The fun part is discovering which colors he likes and which he hates :)

Or By you all wearing black, gives the glass a mirror effect. Like when you see your reflection in the water

My CT can't stand red. Hold anything red up in front of his tank and that beard pops straight out! Looks like you've got a black-hating fishie, hehe.

Interesting!!
I think he doesn't like black because he flared up at the cord from the kettle once and the other day he had a go at the cord for his heater...

Yep.. dark room and dark (black) clothing will create a mirror effect on the inside of the tank if the tank light is on.

Hehe they can be. One of mine hates any and all backgrounds, another hates red, and the third one has an intense dislike for neon green. Weird little guys they are!

Bit difficult for you to accommodate a black-hating fishie though! It's not like there's an abundance of heaters with white/other coloured cords out there...
