Patooey!?

So I just got Lewi, My orange VT, last weekend. So he is rather new to me (not bettas...Lewi) and what he does is he eats a flake of food, then PATOOEY!!! spits it out. Then he proceeds to go and eat the little pieces and repeat. Some he does swallow with out spitting them out but not all. So my questions would be:
1. Does this mean he doesnt like his food?
2. Does this mean the flakes are too big?
He is currently eating:

and also if you guys have a better suggestion for food (that isnt bloodworms or live AND that is avalible in Canada) can you share please :) thanks
p.s I know the patooey title got your attention ;)

Where in Canada are you? You should get NLS or omega one, they are the best pellets and I've seen both of them here.

I was using that same food, and my girls did the same thing. Then I went and bought http://www.petsmart.com/product/inde...AvailInUS%2FNo

My girls have not had a problem eating this at all. They gobble it and without spitting it back out.

I'm in AB. You don't always have to ship, I see omega one PELLETS everywhere. IMO NLS is worth it, it smells but as soon as you put the cover on it goes away. It also colors up my fish nicely. I've never tried omega one, but I saw the ingredients and they are pretty good, whole fish first.

I feed Omega One pellets to all my bettas. They love them. Your fish may just be getting used to his new surroundings. I'm sure he will start eating better once he is settled in. What you are seeing is not uncommon with new fish.
