Well, my obsession with Chalky has grown into something more! My husband is on a business trip and when he goes away, things tend to happen :D
Last night, I must have went to every Petco/Petsmart in a 25 mile radius of my house. I told myself I'd just go to "look", knowing full well I'd be taking someone home if they looked like a winner. Things were looking pretty grim at first but towards the end of my trip I found this cute little guy who was just begging to be taken home. Or, that's how I'm rationalizing it anyway! I also picked up a new Fluval Spec and brought him home. It was pretty late, so I set him up with just some gravel and a couple of rocks. Very temporary.
Today I hit the stores again, this time also going to a true LFS I have come to like a lot. I got some new malaysian driftwood (Chalky's old piece was too big), a crypt, some pennywort, a moss ball and a heater. The heated water sure has perked my guy up. He seems so much happier in his new, more exciting environment! His name is Charlie Bronson in honor of the film "Bronson". I'm a bit of a Tom Hardy obsessive and that's one of my favorite roles of his. Ha! He's my first plakat - he was labeled as dragonscale and I have no idea what his official color is, but he's got a bit of a mustard gas thing I've seen on halfmoons going for him. Who knows?
Here's Charlie B in all his glory.
