Please help..

Sigh. Okay. I openly and honestly admit to neglecting my fish this past month. I've been so busy sitting exams, working 24/7 and I've been really depressed... So I know it's my fault he is sick, and I am willing to take the consequences..

I noticed the other day that my Betta had a little fin rot, and what looked like Ich. The tips of his tails were black, when they are usually red. I treated with Wunder Tonic.

Now, I saw him lying on the tank floor (unsure if sleeping or not as when I gave him food he started swimming around)... but the white spots weren't visible anymore. I got a torch and shone it on his head, and it looks like brownish (He's a black masked Betta) which I am assuming to be Velvet. It looks like it, anyhow... and he still has fin rot.

I'm going to be moving him into a QT bowl to treat him but I'm not sure about treating.

So, I guess my two main questions are:

• Can I use Malachite green and Wunder Tonic at the same time? (If not, what should I treat first?)
• The wunder tonic in his tank doesn't seem to be working (though he hasn't visibly lost anymore tail but it's still black edged), what should I treat him with?

1.5% methylene blue, 0.1% malachite green, 0.05% acriflavine, 0.04 quinine, in aqueous solution

I don't know if it's sold where you are, or even out of this country. I've only ever seen it here. I've used it plenty before, it's good, but I don't think it's working this particular time..

That's good for external parasites and not much else.

What you're using has malachite green in it, so no you should not add more.

He may be pale and stressed from the med.. How long has he been on it?

He hasn't really lost colour at all... though I have noticed that he has had a bit more colour added to his body. He's never marbled before so it's pretty new for me.

As for it not being velvet, I wasn't too sure. It looked like gold/brown dust but I could see it sort of without the flashlight. He hasn't had it before. and before he had ick, but now it's gone and this has seemed to show up? :/

I don't have a camera anymore sorry.
What I mean is, I thought he had ick as he had a few white dots on his head... but they've gone and now he has this brownish stuff on his head area, I shone a torch, it's brownish. He has a black mask.

Sorry if that's confusing, I really have no idea how to explain it anymore o.O

Black headed bettas can pale to brown when stressed and/or ill

If that's all you're seeing.. I don't really know what to tell you.. doesn't sound like any disease I know of.

Oh, okay. I'm not sure why he is stressed but I understand. Maybe the water levels is bad - I haven't been able to get a new water test kit so I'm not sure what the water is like. My fault.

What about doing a search (via google, etc) and trying to find a picture that looks similar to whatever he has? If you find one, you could post it here.
