Fins keep growing?

I got a pet store betta 3 months ago. He was labeled crowntail, but I think he is veil tail.

He was so thin when I got him. He has grown a third of a body length and seems very healthy now. His fins are getting really long. His tail, and bottom fin are as long or slightly longer than his body. His top fin is at least an inch. I think they have grown 1/4" in the last couple weeks.

He is in a planted 5 gallon Fluval Spec V, by himself.

I was wondering if his fins will keep getting longer and longer even though his body seems to have stopped growing? I am assuming they I'll eventually stop.

I keep the little filter outlet covered with filter sponge "thing", otherwise, he gets seriously blown around the tank.

Veil Tails & Crown Tails look very different from each other, I don't see how one could be mistaken for the other. In any case, the fins (tail, anal) are typically longer than the body.

He will probs keep growing until his fins are full size, then they will stop

Could you show us a pic?
A lot of the bettas in stores are shipped of to be sold pretty young these days. Yours will grow a bit more probably.
How would you describe the fin?? (see my avatar betta??) that is a combtail which is a mix of VT and CT. The fins have changed since then to give it a melted CT kind of look.. Very sloppy breeding. But yours may be a cross of some sort too. VT's droop down more than CT.

Sorry about pic quality. My good Canon doesn't do well with aquarium pics and the only camera I have that works at all is my iPod. They are not the clearest focus, but you can see his shape.

I also wonder about the iridescent lavender he has. I am assuming this is a fault.

His cup did say crowntail. But, I figured that way they got $2 more for him.

I chose him because he was the most active. I didn't really care about color or what type he was. I looked at the store for a couple weeks at him, waiting for the tank to finish cycle. I marked his cup label so I knew I was looking at the same fish.

I think he's a veil tale. I'm not sure if they will keep growing but I don't think so

I think he is a veil tail, and he was either mismarked or like I said, they thought if he was labeled crowntail, they could get an extra $2.

So will his fins keep growing, or is this about it? I worry about his ability to swim well, as his fins keep getting longer and longer.

He's definitely a best tail & I think his fins will grow a little more.
