Discoloration on fin, should I be worried?

Hello everyone! I am a first time aquarium and betta fish owner. I purchased my betta on Friday and noticed that one of his ventral fins is streaked white. I have attached photos and was wondering if anyone can tell me if this is something to be worried about or not. Thank you!

It appears normal to me. Both my fish have something similar. He's gorgeous.
Nice set up by the way. You might want to add something close to the top of the tank for him to rest on though, they like to lounge near the surface sometimes.

He looks very healthy to me :)

As a side note I suggest adding a prefilter sponge to the HOB as I've seen far too many bettas get sucked in/to them and killed. http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_no...efilter+sponge

To the OP: You have a very pretty fish there! ^.^

Question somewhat related: On a fish that now has ventrals that look similar to the OP's fish, but did not have these white tips on its ventrals before but nothing else is out of the ordinary, what is it likely to mean?

Maybe they're growing out? I still remember the last person's thread whose fins got white tips and was acting normal and then just died.. I've never seen that happen before though.

Ah, thank you, that's good to know. Not so good about the fish that just keeled over, that's a bit alarming!
