Bubble Nest?? (Photo attached)

I have a betta fish that I believ to be a female that I have had for a little over a month. I was away yesterday, and came back to find a patch of bubbles on the top of her bowl. Before I left yesterday, I noticed a small clump of bubbles in the one corner, but upon my return, they r not only in the corner, but ten centr of the tank as well. I was also thinking my fish is female... And I didn't think that gender made the nests.

Any thoughts?

Can you post a picture of your betta? Also is your tank filtered?

To identify whether your fish is a female, look at the bottom part of your fish. A female will have a white dot (very obvious) at the bottom, which is used to release eggs when she is mating. :)

Females will build bubble nests sometimes, too. My girl just made one yesterday. :D

My female builds bubble nests when she gets eggy. But it's also possible that yours is a male, even if there is a white spot. Some males do get white spots underneath - it's becoming so common that the betta shows will automatically disqualify a male if he has a white spot now.
