Frozen bloodworms have worked great for me.

I try to keep all of my breeders in constant condition, and I feed a mixture of frozen Blood Worms, frozen Midge Larvae (Glassworms, similar to mosquito larvae), NLS Thera + A, and Attison's Betta Pro twice a day.

Can't buy the betta pro anymore though, unless you get really lucky and find some.

I have frozen bloodworms, brine shrimp, daphnia, tubifex worms.. for pellets I use black gold, Ken's betta formula, Atison's.

I like to condition with live foods, mainly live mosquito larva, however, they are seasonal in my area and I don't have as many in the colder months. So I use my homemade food to condition when I don't have the mass amounts of mosquito larva. Except I do have daphnia all year long that will be in my outside buckets-but due to them being so small-I find it harder to use them for the adults-but the smaller/younger Betta eat them up.
