I used to have one of those, and while it worked just fine, I didn't particularly like not being able to see numbers in front of my face to adjust it to. >.<

I use Fluval Tronic heaters (they were all the LFS had at time of purchase) and while they're overkill for my 3.9g tanks (they're 50W heaters) they have never failed in keeping the temp exactly where I set it, and surprisingly heat the water up from room temperature pretty slowly, which, if you'll be installing while the fish is still in the tank, is what you'd want (although you should only raise it one degree per hour - or even stretch it out further than that - this is unlikely to just go BAM! with it).

However for those Elite ones, there are heaps of rave reviews, and loads of people love them, so if you don't mind not having numbers on a dial, definitely go for that one.

Don't worry I understand what you mean ... I dont mind not having the numbers as long as I can read my thermometer lol

As for putting it in with fish in the tank I plan to have it in before I add the tanks residents :)

Ahh, then definitely get the Elite one, save some cash, hehe.
