Question Identifying help Please.

Hello, this is Jasper :) I am almost positive he is a dragon scale, but his tail type and color has eluded me. I was pretty sure he was a veil-tail but now im thinking possible comb tail, it's hard to see from these pictures so I'll have to watch and wait for him to flare at something. Which he rarely does.

Ok! My question is mainly on color. Like I said, im 99.99% sure he is a dragonscale but his color is looking to me like butterfly? The metallic scales on his body change from like green to dark blue/purple depending on the angle you look at him, then he has a black body around the edge which goes into red on the fins, to like a clear, back to a dark blue/black. His dorsal fin however is more of a metallic green with black stripes that run horizontally. Ok, Ill post some pictures and tell me what you think.

The tail on a VT would droop more rather then fan.. I think he might be either Halfmoon or deltatail. Hard to say without him flaring.
A combtail is a mix between a Vt and Ct (my avatar) and generally they are pretty messy looking tails depending on the strain and breeding.

You're correct, your betta is a dragonscale. His color is a simple bi-color. Butterfly tails are the body's solid color right up to the last third of the tail where it turns white. So, he's not a butterfly. But he is a handsome little thing!!

Ya but his tail tilts down like a vail tail not up like a hm or delta.

MorganC2010, do you think you can post some more pics and also a pic of him flared?

I'm nearly positive he is atleast a delta. His tail has too much room to expand to be VT.
Coloring I would call black copper

And he is dragonscale

Thanks for all of the feedback! Ok so it's looking like the ruling opinion is delta tail, which is what I was thinking. Hopefully I can get a good one of him flaring and that will probably help us determine color. I didn't think he was a butterfly color because Vladimir is...well was a butterfly. He kinda out grew it and is a solid red now. Ok. Stay tuned for more pictures :)
