New Rescue Girl! Need name suggestions!

New girl I rescued! She was stuck in a vase inside a 20 gallon with a male and the water hadn't been changed for months.. it was completely yellow and smelled! She has a little fin rot I need to treat, any suggestions on what to use (brands)? ANyone know what breed she is, I was thinking halfmoon, and her age?

Actually, if you have her in warm clean water, she should heal all by herself :) why dose something that is minor? ;) Looks like she has regrowth on her caudal already anyways. She is actually veiltail. See how the anal fin swoops underneath the caudal. That is a trait of a veiltail. The picture attached is my 3 month old baby betta, from a doubletail geno X halfmoon spawn. Note how the anal fin is more streamlined.

Your girl is purty though :3 Name her to match her circumstance, or behavior.

If the clean water way is not working too well, I would use 1-3 teaspoons of aquarium salt PRE DISSOLVED, gradually adding over time so not to shock her. Daily water change and re-adding the salt you take out, in a week she would be looking really great. It also acts as an immune system booster.

Thanks! I wasn't sure as I've never had a female! Yeah when I got her, the rot was A LOT worse. Funny how a little TCL does them so well!

Females are hard to tell sometimes :p my "veiltail" ended up a doubletail geno. xD some veils are combtails some plakats are really veiltails... X.x

She's really pretty! I think either Ruby or Rose (or Rosy) would suit her really well. Being a rescue, you could also call her Lucky!

The male is still with the other owner, but I'm taking him today! I needed to set up a tank and stuff. I posted pictures on the emergency thread because he was so bloated. They were feeding them the wrong type of food, stuff for guppies!
