Why would my betta be pacing back and forth?

He looks great and seems very energetic and is eating well. He paces across the front of the tank most of the day. He doesn't bother with the snail of shrimp at all.

My betta does it too, but only when he's hungry and when i'm near his tank. Maybe he need more plants.

I have two in a diveded tank. I've noticed my younger betta Star (around 6-8mo I think) will pace back and forth occasionally. Nightshade (1yr or so) will just chill on his plants and watch him with disgust lol .

Mine was doing it last night along the bottom of the back of the tank. 1st time I'd seen him do that. He'd go back & forth for about 5-10 minutes & then take a break, then go back & do it some more. He did this until lights out & may have kept going for all I know but it was my bed time.
