Quick Question Before I Head Out to Class

Okay, my dorm is under construction this year and we had a water outage Friday. They need to test the water before we can drink it. The last time I changed Var and Al's water was last Tuesday. We won't have a say on the water until Wednesday! I have no idea what to do. I would hate to put my fish in water that is potentially unsafe for me to drink. I have access to bottled water from my dorm, but I'm not sure they'd let me take 6 gallons worth of water. Are they going to be okay? Would the water conditioner I use (API) take out anything that is harmful such as bacteria? Sorry this is so brief. I have to go to my next class.

Okay, I'm back from class now. I can give some more information.
Housing
What size is your tank? 2 separate 3 gallon tanks
What temperature is your tank? 78 degrees F
Does your tank have a filter? No
Does your tank have an air stone or other type of aeration? No
Is your tank heated? Yes
What tank mates does your betta fish live with? Algernon lives with a tiger nerite snail; Vardaman is alone

Maintenance
How often do you perform a water change? Usually twice a week
What percentage of the water do you change when you perform a water change? 75%
What type of additives do you add to the water when you perform a water change? Conditioner in Algernon's and stress coat in Vardaman's

Water Parameters:
Have you tested your water? If so, what are the following parameters? No test kit yet

Symptoms and Treatment
How has your betta fish's appearance changed? I think Var might be developing some fin rot, but his fins were already torn up, so I am not sure.
How has your betta fish's behavior changed? Algernon seems a bit less energetic to see me. Vardaman seems normal.
Does your fish have any history of being ill? Algernon-No Vardman-ALWAYS hurting his fins
How old is your fish (approximately)? I got them at Petco decent sized. Probably around a year old for both of them.

You should be ok without a water change until you get the notice Wed. that your water is safe (hopefully).

Otherwise, one or two small water changes with bottled water should be ok. With the bottled water, you won't have essential minerals so that wouldn't be really good for long term use.

PH swing is the only other thing I can think of that might happen with bottled water. Again, a few small changes with it shouldn't matter.
