hello there
you could always buy a large tank and devide it into sections,
there is another member here who has done this, and
made a really good job of it too.
without filters and heating your Bettas will not be happy for long,
and it is going to cause you a great amount of heart ache.

No Petco or PetSmart around huh? I'm not a big fan of them but when ya need stuff and have nowhere else to go....annnyways, dividing them is a way to go, for 6 bettas you'd need to have a 20 gallon with 5 dividers (if you wanted the filter intake to have it's own spot you could still pull it off, just 6 dividers, kinda pricy but maybe still cheaper than running 6 Mini-Bows). Each of them could maybe have a plant too-silk ones.

Do you have any Wal-Marts or other stores around that sell Mini-Bows (we have Meijers but that's regional). Do not buy that Aqua Tech crap if you buy from Wal-Mart. You'll just end up upgrading which means more money.

I remember seeing something about keeping them from fighting but I don't remember exactly where it is. Maybe go through some of the old posts (ah, heck, I'd suggest that anyways, lots of good learning in there).

Well see..when properly raised and care for Bettas can actually live a number of years (up to 12 I think someone said???). However, kept in those little bowls the number drops dramatically and the fish isn't exactly as happy as it could be.
