it shouldnt be a problem if he/she only does it once in a while but if he /she is spending most of his time just laying on the bottom something might be wrong.

For short periods, then he is probably sleeping. If he over does it, then your water is probable too cold. What size is the tank, and do you have a heater?

i have 1/2 right now but i am trying to get new ones but it is only for short pirods of time nothing to long and not i dont have a heater i will on monday i am still trying to get everything. Is there any was to cycle a tank really fast so that i can put them in as soon as i do get every thing

if you add water, gravel, exc. from the tank you already have going it will help a lot. do you have a filter in your 1/2 gallon?

If you have an uncycled tank and an uncycled bowl that he is in right now there is no difference. You might as well get more dilution of the nitrogen in the larger container. If your small container has any beneficial bacteria in it, then it might be worth waiting. If you assume he produces 1 ml of waste in a day, it will dilute much better in a good sized tank than in a 1/2 gallon.

can i take the water from my moms tank that has gold fish in them and cycle the water of the big tanks with it? and then how long do i have to let it sit befor i put them in that tank?
