Would kuhli loaches and malaysian trumpet snails get the job done?

I recently switched to sand substrate, which by the way was a lot of work but totally worth it and I bought some kuhli loaches from petsmart and they gave me some malaysian trumpet snails for free and I was wondering if they do the job of stirring the sand for me to avoid gas pockets or do I still have to stir the sand myself?

The snails do a really good job of stirring things up but they tend to stay at the sides, near plants, around decorations. I'd get in there ever so often and get the bare areas just to make sure.

Agreed. I'll find mine around rocks and plants, and near the glass, but not in open areas. I still use a chopstick to poke around in the sand when I clean, just in case. (Chopsticks are, like, the fish person's best friend)
