Thanks! I sure hope so! I'm doing and trying everything to treat and keep from cross contaminating. If I lose the mother I'll only have the fry and dad to keep the line going

I haven't lost any of the bettas, yet. I still have 3 that aren't doing well, along with 1 Endler male, but things are starting to look better. On the last day of directed treatment today, but might do a big (50%) w/c and another round just to play it safe.

Does anyone know how long i should/could use maracyn plus? I don't want to over-do it, but I do want to make sure it's all gone so it won't pop up again.

Found some info on other forums, so I can't post the links here... But the advice given said to:
a) Finish one full round of treatment
b) Do a large water change
c) Do a second full round of treatment

If you're worried about it being too harsh on the fish that have gotten better, could you remove them from the tank, and just treat the ones that aren't doing well?

Or could you try a different combination of meds on the ones who still aren't doing well? Maybe Furan 2 and Kanamycin combined?

ETA: Did some more research on the medications in Maracyn Plus:
* Trimethoprim is used 7-10 days for people.
* Sulphadimidine is used 7 days max for cattle, horses, sheep, pigs, rabbits, cats and dogs... But there's no mention of fish!

OK, searched a bunch of forums, and found additional recommendations about repeating the Maracyn Plus treatment for an additional round:

• Repeat full treatment --> 2 recommendations
• Repeat for an additional 2 days, then switch to different antibiotic combination if no improvement --> 1 recommendation
• Wait 1-2 days, then repeat full treatment --> 1 recommendation
• Dose for a total of 7-10 days, but not more --> 1 recommendation

Also, a few people recommended monitoring ammonia levels carefully during treatment. (I saw this in several forums.)
