my first big ear!

after losing two girls i was gonna adopt/adopt from a friend, another friend offered to send me one of her males that needed a home. i browsed the pictures, and was drawn to this cute li'l big ear she had. he was just so cute, and she said no one really wanted him despite how adorable he was, so i knew i had to get him. 8U

the name Hiccup quickly came to mind, despite him already being called Jaws. he was just too cute and derpy-looking for such a srs name. :B things happened, though, and she was unable to send him for a while, but he finally got here today!

of course, i dropped his box while trying to come into the house with a bunch of bags in my arms. >.>; but he's fine. settling in nicely! not skittish or anything! super curious and adorable! he let me take pictures, and, well.... he loves the camera!






yeah, his fins don't look too great. she said they've always been like that. nothing i can't handle. gonna add a half an IAL to his tank soon, see if that helps any. but, it adds to his derpyness and his name. :V Hiccup. like from How to Train Your Dragon. <3

I'm been wanting an elephant ear, but the only place I can get them locally is petco, and they're $20 each which is a little high.. but I'm sure if I fall in love with one I will buy it :)

i've wanted one for a while now, too, but we don't have a PetCo nearby. 8I and my local pet store hasn't had any, and i dunno if they could get any. :I Hiccup was from a breeder, and it wasn't known that he was a big ear until he came in. 8U

naaah. he's a huge derp. so friendly, too. every time i walk up to his tank, he's right there, wiggling at me. <3

We almost paid $25 for Hu, luckily they gave my fiance a $5 discount because he apparently looked disgruntled enough about having to pick him up for me that they felt sorry for him XD
