Do all fish get that when they die?
Mine passed overnight, and had the same covering on his body.

I actually just lost mine yesterday, and another will be passing soon from the same.

I was told it was an acute columnaris :/

I'm using an anti-fungal med in his water and it doesn't seem to be working. It just keeps spreading. This will be my third death in two days from this...

Looks like columnaris. You need an anti bacterial that will treat both gram positive and negative bacteria. Maracyn plus and furan2 are the 2 I have used and are easily available, maracyn plus being the better out of the two

I am using primafix anti fungal medicine....I don't know if that is a bad one but it was all petco had while I was there.... I am like 45 minutes from the nearest pet store....so its hard for me to get new stuff quickly. I am also just about out of money for a week or so...it says that the medicine also treats bacterial infections....

It won't work. You'll lose him using that and waiting that long.. Kanaplex, Triple Sulfa, or Furan 2. Jungle Fungus clear can be subbed for Furan 2 but I don't like to use it because it contains a carcinogenic chemical which is not a medication.
