trashing aquatic plants

My beta is ripping apart the aquatic plants in his 1.5 gal.tank.
any answers will be insightful .

What kind of plants? What kind of filter, if any? What kind of betta?

You can see pieces of the plant he tears up. And yes, there is a pump.

What kind of plant is that? The leaves look like anubias but the shredded piece looks like hornwort or something.

I would say he is just doing it out of boredom? Maybe the filter is too strong.
Does he have a heater?

Parts of my plants break off on their own. Not only from the filter, but also just from them doing it naturally.

That messed up plant is cabomba. I can't even keep those things whole in my shrimp tank. I would remove it and put in something sturdier.

Have you seen him attacking it? Or is it just falling apart on its own?

It could be that he is mistaking the plant for some kind of worm or food and is biting at it.

Otherwise it might just be on its way out.

thank you to all. I will remove and repeal with another plant species.
I have had this beta," killer ' for 2 years. He is very well cared for. I really enjoy this hobby and am new to it. I try to educate myself so I care for him properly.
I especially enjoy keeping the environment with aquatic plants.
I have a Fluvel tank and filter system.

can you tell me more, like if there's a current, it willnot be able to withstand the current and breaks apart?
I am thinking of getting the reddish brown version.
