Male or female??

Hello!! One of my Dragonscale/half moon bettas is showing traits of both male and female. (S)he never fought with any of his/her brothers or sisters so I put him/her with the females. (S)he has really long fins though(almost as long as his/her dad`s) and flares at the mirror also though! Is it possible I got a docile male or do females also have long fins and flare??

I named him/her GIRL though so I hope he/she is female =P
(And yes, my username is named after my betta)

A picture or three would really help us identify her/him. :)

Some signs of a male:
- A huge beard that extends under the chin (female bears only show to the sides and are not as large)
- A pointed anal fin (females have boxier fins)
- Long, fat ventral fins (females tend to have short, thin ones)
Of course, none of these are decisive, so a picture would really help. :)

(S)he has a beard (it looks like it anyways) boxy anal fin, and thin ventral fins. Sorry the pictures suck but my camera isn`t very good.

Looks female to me. Put her next to dad and see if she gets breeding stripes, she looks really eggy to me so I bet she would

Yeah, she looks like a girl to me, too. :) Just with some epic finnage!

Btw, aggression is not a great indicator either. :) You can get some very chilled males (e.g. I knew one who lived with male guppies and angelfish) and some super aggressive girls.

Ive had a very aggro girl before, she had no mercy on anyone and had to be treated like a boy

Thanks everyone for your input. I tried this and she got breeding stripes!! Yay! she is a girl! These are her parents in case you were wondering =) His fins are a little beat up because his breeding female is aggressive.

While we're on the topic (and no intentions on thread jacking here) but are females really the only ones that can get STRESS STRIPES? Not to be confused w/ breeding stripes.
