I also need help identifying what he is, although I assumed he was an Elephant Ear I would like to get specifics. When I found him he was in a Veiltail Cup (which he's obviously not) so I snagged him up. His left fin is a 'gimp' fin, which was either torn at one point or just naturally that way, since i've had him it's mostly grown back. :)




Dont worry, Derpy Fish passed away and is no longer in his tank, although they did fine together :)

Looks like a big ear halfmoon betta to me.

From my research, dumbo, big ear, and elephant ear all mean the same thing. I was also considering the half moon, his fins are super gorgeous and I can't wait to watch him grow some more! :)

Any more opinions?

Heck, $20 is cheap for a HM EE here. They sell them for $34 on sale.

Did you get him at petco? They are notorious for "finding Nemo" dumbos.

@fenghuang Dang, then I really did get a good deal! lol!

@mellcrowl Yes, I did, which i've seen a lot of too. I've been known to go in there three times a week or so to check up on their fish. The one closest to me is really terrible, nearly all of their tanks are infected with something, and their poor betta's are hardly cared for. :(
